Planning Broadwater County’s Next Chapter Through Community Collaboration
A Community Review process helps small towns identify their strengths, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. It brings together residents, businesses, and community leaders to establish shared priorities and outline practical steps toward achieving long-term goals. By combining local insight with external expertise, the review supports informed decision-making and coordinated community development.
In 2023, Broadwater County completed a two-phase Community Review in partnership with the Western Community Assessment Network (WeCAN), the Montana Economic Developers Association (MEDA), MBAC, and MSU extension. The Broadwater County Community Review provided guidance for local and countywide planning efforts by identifying community priorities and actionable strategies for growth. It built on local input and collaboration to strengthen Broadwater County’s economy, support business development, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents.
